Updates

Well, I have not written anything for a while so here goes....

Rhode Island Boy has left the building. He actually really had not been living here since late last year; he would only come by a few days here and there because he basically shacked up with his girlfriend. Meanwhile, another guy with a Jeep had been staying there-sort of a sub let type deal. Well, last Tuesday I could tell something was up and now he is gone. Three other people have left as well.
So that is that. A year ago I would have been happy that he left, but now it just sort of feels weird. Like everybody else around me is moving on with life and I am still the same...kind of sad really. So, with that, there really aren't anymore interesting people here. Special Ed left months ago and now Rhode Island Boy is gone. That basically leaves Crazy Cat Lady and Fat Boy but they aren't very interesting......

Bend Over....here it comes!

Today, July 1, 2009, Colorado began its new fee schedule for renewing your vehicle registration. Governor Ritter instituted the new fees to pay for infrastructure improvements such as roads and bridges. I'm sorry, but didn't President Obama's stimulus package already give each state millions of dollars for infrastructure? The new fee for July-December 2010 expiration dates is going up $31, then Jan-Dec 2011 expiration's the fee will be $35 and so forth until the $40 increase is realized. I am not sure how expensive other states vehicle registration fees are, but Colorado already pays too much IMHO. This year, my 1999 (read 10 years old) car cost $68 to register. This included a $25 roadside emissions test; that means my registration was $43. Next year, the 11 year old car will be $74. Colorado is nice enough to only require a emissions test every other year. So in 2011 my 12 year old car will cost roughly $105 to register. And what do you get for that money? A colorful new sticker for the year.
So boo hoo right? Nope. I mean $31 is actually a lot of money, especially for people who are out of work or barely making it. And really, Colorado is not much for public transportation, we need cars here. Judist Priest!
