Knight Rider

So, I was really pissed off when NBC decided to have a 2008 version of the classic 1980's TV show, "Knight Rider." I thought to myself "is Hollywood that desparate? Stealing British TV shows and Americanizing them was not enough, they have to remake classic TV shows?" Well, last night there was nothing on TV and I was bored with Youtube. The new "Knight Rider" was on so I decided to watch it. I have to say, it was not half bad. Sure it is funny that some pretty boy (with tragic tattoos) would land this cool job with the FBI and drive that bad ass Mustang. And back at headquarters there is this hot bitch who's father is an eccentric robot and supercar builder (read not really something that would happen in real life). Anyway, the show was not bad at all. I will have to catch it again next Wednesday, partly because I liked the damn show and also because it was a "to be continued" deal where Michael (Mike) has to drive Kitt at 105 mph to avoid a nuclear explosion. This was after he was trying to save an African Queen from a madman. I think the writers were still thinking things up during their strike.

California

When I was a kid in the 80's I will admit, I wanted to live in California someday. California used to be the place to live. Perfect weather, beautiful people, the ocean and genearlly the cultural capital of America. But things have changed. By the end of the 90's California became overcrowded, expensive and polluted. Not only that, but these 1950's shacks that should be condemded litter the Southern California landscape and cost upwards of $600K to own.
I just finished watching "Back to the Future" starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. If you didn't already know that then you are a moron. Anyway, I always like to see where movies were filmed and what the locations look like today. Of course, movies were actually filmed in California back in the 80's, now they are flimed in Canada. At the beginning of the movie, Marty and Doc are at a mall; this is when the viewer is introduced to the Delorean time machine with JC Penney and Robinson's (later Robinson's May and now Macy's) in the background. I looked up the movie locations online and found out that this mall still exists. Puente Hills Mall, located in City of Industry, CA. The JC Penney and Robinson's are long gone; however, it should be noted that the mall now houses three Asian banks. The new mall owners have even redesigned the mall's interior to follow the principles of feng shui to meet the tastes of the Asian population (read Chinese, Filipino and Vietnamese) that now reside in the area. Now, these people were not born here, they moved here at some point. I am not really against these people, honest. But I am tired of immigration to the US. And so many chose the State of California to call home. Russians, Chinese, Armenians and Vietnamese and of course, Mexicans now live there and many commit crimes there. California is a "minority-majority" state and by 2050 many other states will follow suit.
Meanwhile, native Californians are leaving California behind, moving to Las Vegas, Phoenix and Denver like it is going out of style. California overall has become a cesspool of shacks, freeways and immigrants. I want our borders closed. Enough is enough, get these dirty people out of here!
